We have helped over 80 U.S. communities launch 100-Day Challenges and brought communities together to accelerate progress toward ending veteran, chronic, and youth homelessness. Together, we have launched 140 Challenges with 2,100 participants in 687 workshops across the United States.
Since 2012, our US Housing and Homelessness sector has partnered with communities to RE!EXAMINE their homeless response systems to ensure they are equitable, data-driven, and collaborative. Through our methodology, we break down silos by bringing together system leaders, frontline staff, and people with lived experience to foster an environment of trust, intense collaboration and innovation. Our housing and homelessness Catalysts are facilitators, conveners, system change idealists, and housing advocates that center their work on creating change powered by the people closest to the issue.
Working in tandem with frontline staff and supported by system leaders, our Catalysts coach and structure 100-Day Challenges, unleashing innovation and collaboration across the US. Our work with the youth and young adult sector, chronic homelessness and veterans has helped communities house thousands of individuals.

Youth and Young Adults
100-Day Challenges are an onramp to the movement to prevent and end homelessness among youth and young adults in the United States. We have partnered with the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development, the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the National Youth Forum on Homelessness, and HomeBase, among others, to launch 100-Day Challenges with communities across the country. So far, 45 communities have completed 100-Day Challenges to prevent and end youth homelessness - resulting in 3,971 youth and young adults being safely and stably housed!
Veterans
In March 2014, we helped launch a multi-year, multi-agency effort to help 25 communities across the United States to end Veteran Homelessness by December 2015. The 25 Cities Initiative was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and we were honored to partner with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, Community Solutions, Atlas Research, and local community partners in working to meet this ambitious, yet believable goal.
- The initiative concluded in September 2016 but contributed significantly to the recent progress in ending Veteran homelessness, housing a total of 29,499 veterans.
- The number of veterans experiencing homelessness in the 25 cities decreased by 47% from 2013 to 2016, compared with a 27% decrease in other non-participating cities in the US.
California
In December of 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom announced a 100-Day Challenge Initiative for California Cities & Counties to Fight Homelessness, in part due to the success 100-Day Challenges have made in accelerating efforts to prevent and end youth homelessness and in tackling Veteran and chronic homelessness across the country. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become more critical than ever to address this issue, especially given that those experiencing homelessness are the most vulnerable and at risk. To date, 15 communities in California have embarked on 100-Day Challenges under this initiative, resulting in safe and stable housing for 1,907 people. The most recent cohort, which focused on housing outcomes for people exiting Project Roomkey, saw, on average, a 35% increase over baseline performance by the end of 100 days.
