Our mission is to transform social systems and make communities more equitable, just, and safe. Our vision is that all social systems are designed around the people they serve and are effective and equitable in their delivery of services.

THE PROBLEM AND THE RE!NSTITUTE SOLUTION

Lack of coordination and shared values, goals, and objectives often stand in the way of communities' progress on many critical social problems. This is often the result of fragmentation – at the political and agency levels and a failure to work with non-governmental partners and people closest to the problem.

RE!NSTITUTE has developed a proven method to eliminate this fragmentation, bringing stakeholders together to define and analyze a problem, develop solutions, and implement them in a rapid timeframe - The 100-Day Challenge.

Our methodology brings everyone together, fostering a sense of urgency, a focus on tangible results, and the freedom to experiment. This approach empowers those with frontline and lived experience to collaborate, innovate, and execute, setting the community on a path toward lasting system transformation.

The results of the 100-Day Challenges are undeniable.

By continuing to work with communities after the 100-Days, we see that systems are transformed in the following ways:

    • Policies are amended or developed to improve outcomes and systems.
    • Processes are made more efficient, collaborative, and results-focused.
    • Resources are re-considered in relation to how they aid positive outcomes and encourage cross-system working.
    • Relationships become more trusting and productive.
    • Power dynamics shift to give more agency to those on the frontlines and with lived experience.
    • Mindsets focus on results, not just process, and toward innovation and change where those are needed.
“Shifting to a model of locally-led development means ceding power over decisionmaking to those who know their problems best.”
