Rebeca Fernández
Venture Lead, Latin America
I have worked with USAID-funded projects for almost 17 years to transform and strengthen Mexico's criminal justice system. Before joining RE!NSTITUTE, I worked with USAID's Promoting Justice Project (Projust), where I was introduced to the 100-Day Challenge methodology and trained as a coach. Two years later, I joined the organization.
During the last three years, I have implemented countless 100-Day Challenges and led our work in the justice and anti-corruption sectors in Latin America. As Venture Lead, I continue implementing 100-Day Challenges and accompany the team in designing and facilitating workshops. I also oversee project management and planning, contracting, budgets, and payments. I also lead the team towards achieving our strategic goals and enjoy actively participating in their professional development and growth.
First of all, the organizational culture. There is respect, fairness, and our opinions are always taken into account even for the big decisions. I love being part of this team. Second, I love the impact that the methodology has had in my country by producing better results in criminal justice and anti-corruption efforts, which is something I had not previously seen in the 17 years that I have worked in the sector. Our work has had a tremendous impact on reducing violence against women in Mexico.
You can find me working out at the gym, hiking or kayaking, doing outdoor yoga, eating dinner, or at the movies with my kids or friends.
