Sean Whitten (He/Him)
Chief Executive Officer / Board President
I joined RE!NSTITUTE in 2015 after having the opportunity of being a Team Leader for a 100-Day Challenge in Fresno, CA. The Challenge was focused on housing Veterans and chronically homeless individuals and was part of the VA led 25 Cities initiative.
I fell in love with the methodology, and when I received a call from the Catalyst I was working with at the time, asking if I'd be interested in working with the organization, I jumped at the chance.
I am the Chief Executive Officer of RE!NSTITUTE. I started my journey as a Catalyst and have had the pleasure of being a part of the organization's growth since 2015. In my current role, I support the team in strengthening and expanding our methodology and practice. I also support the operations team as they manage our finances, HR & fundraising. I would say that my primary role is developing a strategy for the organization's future and continuously adapting that strategy as needed to scale and expand our work.
What I love most about my role is having the ability to help create the type of organizational culture that believes in true collaboration, innovation, and execution. We are always working to create these conditions in our projects and within our organization. RE!NSTITUTE believes in shared decision making and continuously strives to live up to its values of Equity, Trust, Integrity, Impact, Collaboration, and Diversity.
In my free time, you can find me reading a good book, spending time with my partner, laughing with loved ones, or watching a good show on television.
