A look back at our role as a founding partner of Nesta's People Power Results program as they reflect on 10 years of work.

Seven years ago, I joined what was then the Rapid Results Institute, now known as RE!NSTITUTE. Intrigued by its promise of tangible results, driven by frontline workers worldwide, the People Powered Results project in collaboration with the British National Health Service was of particular interest. Having worked with health systems in North Africa and India, I yearned to find effective methodologies for systems change and contribute to transformation work in my home country.

People Powered Results, a joint venture between Nesta, the British innovation foundation, and RRI, began in 2013. Starting in Essex, the project showcased extraordinary outcomes through the 100-Day Challenge, bringing together multi-sector teams from health, community, social care, and patient representatives. Witnessing the profound impact of enabling conditions for change and unleashing collaboration on the frontlines of UK healthcare was truly remarkable.

Over nearly a decade, PPR, initially with RRI as a catalytic founding partner and later led by Nesta, has positively impacted the lives of over 100,000 people. It has demonstrated that placing people at the core of our approach to change is crucial amidst the growing complexity of community challenges. This report delves into the principles behind this work and shares remarkable stories of impact from 100-Day Challenges, such as the transformative experiences in Manchester [see page 25 for more].

Reflecting on the journey, I am as humbled as I was at the inaugural workshop, observing a Senior Consultant, a Nurse, and a patient brainstorming innovative ways to improve the health service. I congratulate the People Powered Results Team on a decade of incredible work, which continues to inspire and empower communities.
