What Brought you to RE!NSTITUTE?
I came to RE!NSTITUTE because it gives me room to bring my full lens to the work. Everything I do is grounded in trauma-informed practice and liberation psychology: understanding how systems shape people's lives, and making sure the people most affected are positioned as experts and agents of change, not subjects of it. RE!NSTITUTE's community-led approach makes space for that lens rather than asking me to set it aside, and that alignment is what drew me in.
What’s Your Current Role?
As Catalyst, I support the sustainability retrospective for the community partner cohorts focused on systemic change.
What do you love about your role and RE!NSTITUTE?
I love that I don't have to separate how I think from how I work. In every interview and workshop, I get to apply a trauma-informed and liberation psychology lens: creating conditions where people feel safe telling the truth about what worked and what didn't, and treating their lived experience as evidence that can reshape systems. Homelessness prevention demands exactly that kind of care and clarity, and RE!NSTITUTE trusts me to bring both.
Where will we find you in your free time?
On the dance floor, most likely, working through kizomba and kompa, other Caribbean/Latin dance forms. Otherwise, I am gaming across whatever console is closest, painting a new art piece, exploring with my fur babies Bumi and Pabu, cooking and baking something fun or figuring out the next time I can go horseback riding or parasailing.
